performance performance …..

Friday, August 31st, 2007

We’ve done some tuning last night and …. yes, the system is running well … 20.000 Thumbs served since yesterday.

Our API is in good shape - thumbs are served “in time”.

Avg CPU is 20% so I’ll enjoy the weekend !

Best regards

1st milestone of 50.000 thumbz reached

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Wow, what a stunning response. Thanks to your tremendous usage of our service, we have reached our 1st milestone of 50.000 generated thumbz in only about 10 days!
That’s much more than we could have expected. Thanks again at that point!

Unfortunately our new server (dualcore opteron 2.6 ghz, 4gb RAM !) is still quite busy handling your requests. So we’re still working hard on performance tuning, especially for the API usage…

Furthermore, we also have some new features in mind to make our services even more suitable for your requirements. So you’d better stay tuned…

Best regards, your thumbalizr team

Due to the heavy response we’ve got from users all over the world we have to say SORRY that our server is a little overloaded at the moment. Be assured, we are working hard on a fast solution right now.

We never thought,  we could make it in only 3 days…

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Hi folks,
we have just released the first release of the API to the public!
Now you are able to use the thumbalizr in your own products just by writing one single line of code:

 Syntax to use the API:
http://www.thumbalizr.com/api/?url=http://www.ford.de&width=250

Parameter:

url : the url with or without the http://
width : any width up to 1024 … all bigger values will be ignored … DEFAULT : 200

So the most simple usage is :
http://www.thumbalizr.com/api/?url=www.cyberport.de

If the URL is not in our database, a “queued”-Picture will be shown. After max. 2 Minutes it will be replaced with the final one.
